This is a workshop for middle school girls to deal with topics of goal setting, positive peer pressure, confidence building as well as other topics relating to young women. The event is held in November and is free for any middle school girl.

 

 

Mastectomy Pillow Project

 
   

Club members participate in the making of breast surgery pillows for use by breast cancer surgery patients.  These pillows are given to Charlevoix Area Hospitals and local surgeons who provide them to their patients who have had mastectomies.
 

 

 

Washable and Reusable Menstrual Pads

 
   

Club members cut and sew fabric to be used as washable/reusable menstrual pads for women in third world countries.
 

 

 

Z-Tea for Elementary School Girls and Doll Tea

 
   

A tea party for elementary school girls, their mothers, and their dolls.  The event is scheduled for April.
 

 

 

Food Pantry

 
   

Club members collect and contribute non-perishable food items to local food pantries.

Mary Feindt Endowment Fund

Young Women in Public Affairs

 
   

The Zonta Club of Charlevoix Area participates in this Zonta International program and provides a grant to junior/senior girl exemplifying excellence in academics,leadership and community service.

 
 

Jane M. Klausman Award Women in Business Scholarship Program

 
   

The club also participates in the Zonta International Klausman program and provides a grant to a young woman studying in the field of business.

 
 

Women's Resource Center

 
   

The Women's Resource Center of Northern Michigan, Inc. serves women and their families who choose to participate in, and can benefit from, the Center's programs. These programs: protect and nurture health and well-being; advocate for the positive solution of crisis situations; encourage active participation in making life choices; facilitate personal growth and lifelong education; and provide a link to community resources. The club provides funds for local women to achieve advancement in any job related improvement.

 
 

Zonta Memorial Foundation

 
   

The Zonta Memorial Foundation (Charlevoix County Community Foundation) provides money given in memory of deceased Zonta members. The allocation of the money earned from the Foundation has yet to be determined.
