Charlevoix sits on three lakes, Lake Michigan, Lake Charlevoix and Round Lake. The population of the surrounding area is about 8,500, which swells to an estimated 30,000 in the Summer season. Charlevoix is populated by a blend of long-time summer resorters and local residents who may work in the town's industrial park or may have descended from the early commercial fishermen who settled in the area.

In addition to Charlevoix's natural beauty, the area offers excellent shopping, dining, boating, sport fishing and special events that make this small northern Michigan community truly "Charlevoix the Beautiful".
